It has been significantly expanded to offer more financial assistance to a larger group of employers. Employers can use the ERTC against federal labour taxes on eligible wages paid to their employees from March 13, 2020 to December 31, 2021. Businesses can claim the loan retroactively for past quarters. The ERTC has a maximum credit of $5,000 per employee in 2020 and a maximum of $28,000 per employee in 2021.
